I would like to thank all of you who sent comments on my composition, I Will Praise Your Name based on Psalm 145.
Not only do I find inspiration from the Psalms but also from your responses to the music. Typically, a singer would sing the Psalm and the listener would get impressions mostly from the performance of the vocalist.
Since we don’t have a regular vocalist with us I have been working on a concept that presents a recitation of the words of the song derived from the Psalm followed by an instrumental rendering of the song. This seems to resonate with the listener giving one an opportunity to hear the Psalm in two forms, first the words to reflect on and second the music. Since the music was inspired by the word (Word?), this opens a new experience for us at DWB.
I plan to delve deeper into this concept and eagerly look forward to continued responses from you. Thanks again.
