When the shepherds encountered the angel, they were frightened. But the message the angel gave them was one of reassurance. The popular phrase, “Let go and let God” comes to mind. We are accustomed to thinking that we are in control, but when things happen to us that shake the ground we stand on, such as sickness or death, a tragedy, etc., in those times we find we have to let go and often turn to God.
