Reflection on Psalm 27
Oh merciful God, my light and my love, in you I’ve found my home; the garden of my nights. A fortress strong, walls lined with fragrance sweet; a harmony released.
Heart to heart, like a prayer, draw me in.
One thing I ask my Lord, to behold the beauty that called me and to bow before this love. To touch the heart that freed me.
Heart to heart, like a prayer, draw me in.
Cast me not away from the joy of your face, the heart of my longing. Remember my name. Shadow not the flame of your love, for my vows cannot hold such rejection. Your graciousness has brought forth great healing and in the depth of the stillness there arises great praise … lips caught by love’s darkness, take me home.
Heart to heart, like a prayer, draw me in.
Hide me in your sanctuary; protect me in the strength of your robes. Place me on the wings of the sparrow and guide me in flowing song all the days of my life.
Heart to heart, like a prayer, draw me in.
I will walk with my eyes; see the goodness of the Lord. Love the creatures of the earth and the presence of the Holy.
Heart to heart, like a prayer, draw me in.
