There’s a scene in an old Abbot and Costello movie where they are on an airplane and Lou Costello says, “hey Abbot, those people down there look like ants” and Abbot says, “they ARE ants, we haven’t left the ground yet.
I sometimes think that orientation or disorientation is really a matter of perspective. We’ve all seen examples of people who seem to have everything but are miserable as well as the opposite scenario of those who don’t have much but are happy with their lot in life.
A friend recently said the following. ” You know those guys who see the glass half full and the others who see the glass half empty? Well, there are also those who don’t even see the glass.”
There are times when we can look back and see that we have been each of the above mentioned. I know I have.
A daily reading of a psalm can clarify one’s perspective.
